CQI was founded by four equal partners in 1995. The four founding partners have been continuously active in CQI management and operations through the present time.

Management Bios

John McCarthy - President and Director of Sales

Mr. McCarthy became President of CQI Solutions, Inc. on January 1, 2005. Prior to being named President, Mr. McCarthy served as the VP of Sales, (1995 - 2004). In his roles as a Founder, Director and Vice President, Mr. McCarthy has served the company in a variety of capacities including; product design, sales and marketing administration, sales training, customer training, system documentation and national account contracting. Mr. McCarthy's prior corporate sales experience as a Senior Account Manager for NCR Corporation, (1983-1989) and as an Area Sales Director for United States Surgical Corporation (1989-1995) provided Mr. McCarthy with extensive education in the areas of information technology, surgical services technology and national account sales. Mr. McCarthy received a B.A. in Marketing/Management from the University of South Florida in 1982.

Roger Kelly - Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Kelly currently serves CQI as Chief Operating Officer, Director and Administrator. Mr. Kelly is the past President of CQI (1995-2004). As a Founder, Director and past President, Mr. Kelly has performed in all aspects required to build a "Start-Up" company. Mr. Kelly has prior start-up experience with Computer Masters, a computer hardware company where he served as President from 1983 to 1990. Computer Masters was then sold to Computer Associates. Mr. Kelly then founded and served as President for Kelly and Associates, a computer hardware and software company from 1990 to 1995. Mr. Kelly received a B.S., Economics from Southwestern College in 1972.

Mark Hickman, M.D., FACS - Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Hickman is a practicing General/Thoracic Surgeon in New Braunfels, Texas and serves CQI as a Founder, Director and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Hickman has prior start-up experience with several on going businesses. Dr. Hickman previously served as Chairman of the Board for Health Reach Inc., a Comal County Texas 501a Organization. Dr. Hickman serves as the Medical Advisor and a previous Chairman of the Board for NeoSurg, Inc., a medical device company. Dr. Hickman is a founder and board member of New Braunfels Surgery Center. He received his M.D. degree in 1982 from UT, Galveston and is a Clinical Professor of Surgery, UT Health Science Center, San Antonio. Dr. Hickman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Kirk Kelly - Chief Technology Officer and Director of Development

Mr. Kelly serves CQI as a Founder, Director and Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Kelly directs product development for CQI software applications. Mr. Kelly is responsible for the integration of the CQI applications with existing hospital systems. Mr. Kelly is responsible for CQI's customer support personnel, software maintenance personnel, and technical documentation personnel. Mr. Kelly has an extensive background in Programming and Systems Development. From 1982-1995, Mr. Kelly served as a Senior Systems Analyst for the United States Marine Corp. Additionally, Mr. Kelly served as Director of Product Development for Kelly and Associates, a computer hardware and software company. Mr. Kelly has developed custom applications for the manufacturing, banking, healthcare and retail industries. Mr. Kelly received a degree in Computer Information Systems from Southwest Texas State University in 1984.
